New server cabinet from Hoffman - Data and Server Racks

New server cabinet from Hoffman - Data and Server RacksHoffman has released a new server cabinet that promises better cooling efficiency.

The Proline Flotek TD Server Cabinet is available in a number of sizes, all with 19 inch racks, and can be used on raised floor or concrete floor applications.

Able to be extended to up to 114 inches, the new server cabinet can allow for heat dissipation of up to 20kW.

Top duct chimneys in the cabinets direct hot airflow back to cooling units meaning hot air does not mix with the cool air intake. This increases cooling efficiency.

Other qualities that improve cooling include front-sealed mounting rails and top and bottom air-blocking plates, meaning cold air bypass is prevented.

Brian Mordick, Senior Product Manager for Networking at Hoffman, said: "By segregating hot exhaust air from cool intake air and increasing cooling efficiency, the Flotek TD Server Cabinet accommodates higher heat loads without the need to add more expensive and less efficient cooling equipment, such as an additional room air conditioner unit, to a data centre."

Siemon recently released the VersaPOD VP2 cabinet, a highly-configurable solution that allows for deeper networking.
