APC has launched a new self-contained, integrated cooling enclosure for network server racks.
The firm, a subsidiary of Schneider Electric, has announced details of its APC InRow SC Systems, which are designed to be deployed as part of a full network environment.
According to APC, the cooling enclosure can offer control for server rooms and features a number of variables including active response controls, variable speed fans, coil freeze protection and a horizontal airflow pattern.
Dave Guidette, senior vice-president of enterprise systems and service for APC, said server rooms are "critical systems within a customer's IT environment".
He added: "The new APC InRow SC Systems provide the flexibility network managers need for changing IT environments in self-contained systems designed and engineered to work together in a scalable modular architecture."
IBM recently launched a new range of servers powered by Intel's Xeon 5500 processors, which can be loaded into racks or cabinets.
