Xirrus Announces Networking Partnership
Wi-Fi Power Play company Xirrus has announced a new partnership with a top UK partner.
The company also revealed that it is working on solutions to replace Ethernet workgroup switches with Wi-Fi.
Bosses said this will increase the efficiency of networks and bring down the costs of infrastructure.
Ben Wilson, commercial director at new partner Wireless LAN Source, said: "Xirrus will become the Wi-Fi solution of choice for the enterprise, campus, and manufacturing segments throughout the UK—the Xirrus Wi-Fi Array is the only Wi-Fi device capable of delivering the same performance as a 24- or 48-port Ethernet switch while using far fewer devices, cables, and switch ports than traditional Wi-Fi offerings."
Wireless LAN Source were named the official provider for this year's Farnborough International Airshow, as well as future shows in 2010 and 2012.
It enlisted the Xirrus Wi-Fi Array to help it provide a campus-wide indoor and outdoor 802.11 network to support the attendees and exhibitors at the show.
