Warrington-based cabling solution manufacturer Volex is planning an overseas expansion of its operations toward the end of 2009.
The company already has manufacturing plants in eight countries but hopes that an improvement in market conditions will allow it to create more opportunities in China and India with Asia already accounting for 60 per cent of the firm's total turnover.
Chairman Mike McTighe said: "We are very encouraged as we enter the new fiscal year with indications of a bottoming in demand for our power products and a solid order book across the globe for our interconnect products."
He added that the company had suffered from reduced order volumes as the recession took hold but said it would be able to counter that with continued expansion in emerging markets such as the Far East.
Volex is also one of the leading manufacturers of fibre optic cable solutions for the telecommunications, storage network, healthcare and aeorspace industries.
