Broadband provider Virgin Media has posted its best results for a third quarter.
The organisation, which has been systematically upgrading its fibre optic cable capacity, said its net revenue had risen by 5.3 per cent to £628 million.
Virgin Media said that its average revenue per user had also climbed for the second successive month by five per cent to £44.24.
After the firm upgraded its fibre optic lead offering, it witnessed a 157 per cent jump in the number of subscribers to its high-speed 10Mbps broadband service.
The company now has 2.7 million users.
Commenting on the continued growth, Virgin Media chief executive officer Neil Berkett said: "I believe this demonstrates the success we have had in significantly differentiating and monetising our compelling consumer proposition."
Recently, Virgin Media announced that it was not going ahead with plans to sell off its 50 per cent stake in digital TV content provider UKTV.
