Bosses at cable and connectivity companies are joining together under a new association which has just been formed.
The Communications Cable and Connectivity Association (CCCA) aims to provide resources on technologies and products to meet new network applications.
It hopes to represent the policy and decisions which affect the quality and performance needs of the structured cabling infrastructure.
Kevin Cyr, president of Berk-Tek, a Nexans company, said: "CCCA is expected to flourish as an organisation attracting new members that represent the vast majority of manufacturers and distributors of communications cables, connectivity, materials, and related components.
"That also means we want to work closely with other trade and industry organisations to share information and advance technologies to improve safety, performance and environmental impact."
