Silver Peak launches WAN acceleration solution

Silver Peak launches WAN acceleration solutionWide Area Network (WAN) acceleration solutions provider Silver Peak Systems has announced its new NX-2000 line of appliances is now available.

The product forms part of the NX family of appliances and brings the Silver Peak service to small branch and remote offices.

It is hoped that the new device will make WAN acceleration affordable in large networks with small Wan links.

Stephen Lamb, director of ICT at North Vancouver School District, said: "We wanted to centralize all file, email, and web services, but did not have enough bandwidth to deliver adequate performance across the WAN.

"Silver Peak solved the problem, delivering 10x more 'virtual bandwidth' at a fraction of what it would have cost to physically upgrade all 37 of our distributed locations."

The NX-2000 enables the acceleration of remote backup, replication and disaster recovery across the WN, as well as improved performance of centralised business applications.
