Siemens Mobility has won a telecoms infrastructure contract relating to the Newport Area Signalling Renewal project in south Wales.
The NASR project is worth an estimated £400 million.
Siemens will deliver networking equipment and telecoms infrastructure at the South Wales Control Centre in Cardiff.
The new centre will control all signalling and operation control in south and central Wales.
Siemens will install more than 50 kilometres of copper cabling, 200 lineside telephones, 50 equipment cabinets and refurbish 12 exisiting relay rooms.
Joern Schlichting, general manager, Signalling and Telecoms, said: "This contract cements the reputation Siemens has with fixed telecoms in south Wales and underlines the quality of the Siemens telecommunications systems on the railway."
Siemens specialises in telecoms and networking infrastructure equipment, including RJ45 cables and leads suitable for industrial Ethernet applications.
The company claims its FastConnect Twisted Pair installation cables can save contractors time and offer fault-free installation.
