Claire Young, runner up on the last series of Sir Alan Sugar's Apprentice, has lent her support to the Country Land and Business Association's (CLBA) rural broadband campaign.
The organisation is promoting the need for high-speed network equipment to be installed in non-urban areas to ensure businesses have access to quick and reliable broadband.
Ms Young's decision to boost the profile of the CLBA's campaign was made following her move from London.
She said: "I have relocated from London to a rural area and discovered the frustrations of poor broadband access."
"In today's modern world, rural areas should not be disadvantaged. It is time to take some action and make a change," she added.
Meanwhile, in April of this year, Top 10 Broadband claimed that plans to exclude rural areas from the roll out of next generation fibre optic lead broadband networks would be detrimental to the UK economy.
The company said rural businesses would be further restricted if they could not access 100Mbps internet connections.
