Research and Markets unveils new green data centre report - Networking Industry News Research and Markets has unveiled a new report which looks at sustainability in the data centre sector.

The Greening the Data Centre: Organising Framework for Sustainable Energy Efficiency, is aimed a professionals working in the IT and network management sectors and looks at all aspects of energy consumption in data storage facilities.

According to Research and Markets, data centre operators need to look beyond technological developments alone if they are to continue reducing their network equipment's carbon footprint.

"IT managers must also confront the challenge from an architectural and business standpoint," the report states.

"Key resources, including government-sponsored initiatives, industry consortiums, and solution providers are discussed in this context," it adds.

Meanwhile, a recent study conducted by Tariff Consultancy entitled Data Centre Pricing 2010 to 2015 claimed that revenue from data centres across Europe will more than double over the course of the next five years.
