Nokia Siemens Networks has acquired carrier Ethernet specialist Atrica,according to reports.
Thanks to the acquisition, Nokia Siemens Networks will gain an end-to-end Carrier Ethernet product portfolio, which will cover metro core, aggregation and demarcation.
Atrica's product portfolio will be integrated into the Nokia Siemens Networks portfolio, website ComputerWeekly reports.
Bernd Schumacher, head of IP transport at Nokia Siemens Networks, told the website: "Carrier Ethernet is an ideal technology to handle growing traffic demands and to decrease the cost of bandwidth."
