Next Generation Data's (NGD) European arm has opened a multi-million pound sustainable data storage facility in Wales.
The new data centre will offer data archiving services to a number of large European blue-chip firms and the facility is the largest of its kind on the continent.
Some 18-months in the making, the new facility covers 700,000 square feet of space and can house up to 19,000 server racks and server cabinets.
Simon Taylor, chairman and co-founder of NGD, said: "In a very tough economic climate we are delighted to have come through on time and on budget with the first critical phase of this extensive project."
He added that the firm enjoyed a strong relationship with the Welsh Assembly Government, which in turn made the construction of the facility possible.
Recently, Richard Forde-Johnston, business development and relationship manager of FibreSpeed, said that an increasing number of businesses in Wales were signing up to next-generation broadband.
