Network equipment manufacturer HP has launched a new range of converged data centre solutions which incorporates both hardware and software.
The HP Converged Infrastructure range aims to bring together both new and existing technology and so is backward compatible with many of the firm's previous data centre offerings.
At the centre of the Converged Infrastructure system is an Infrastructure Operating Environment, which offers data centre operators a greater amount of flexibility when it comes to replacing their existing equipment such as server racks, server cabinets and data storage devices.
The company has also introduced a Data Centre Smart Grid, which allows chief information officers to monitor and control energy consumption at individual server rack levels.
Earlier this year, HP launched a new range of server solutions directed at big businesses.
The company's HP ExSO portfolio includes lightweight servers that are easily mountable and benefit data centres by reducing the amount of space a company's networking equipment takes up.
