Network equipment manufacturer HP has unveiled a selection of products and services aimed at simplifying data centre management.
The company claims the new technology will ensure businesses are spending money in the right areas.
HP's new products use the latest virtualisation technologies and include server storage arrays that use the company's Data Protector backup tool.
Neal Clapper, vice president of HP StorageWorks in EMEA, said customers are spending too much money on network maintenance, with 65 per cent of spend going towards just "keeping the lights on".
"At HP, we have already flipped this around, so most of our spend is on innovation," he added.
The company's StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array supports up to 324TB of storage and can be mounted in server racks and cabinets.
HP is also trying variable pricing on its equipment and services in a bid to boost profits.
The company claims the move could cut application support costs by as much as 40 per cent.
