HP launches new server products - Networking Industry News Hewlett Packard (HP) has launched a new range of servers which it claims could provide customers with the best possible return on investment available.

In an interview with Business World, David Tan of HP said: "The current economic situation gives opportunities for people to consolidate [and] optimise their budgets."

So HP has decided to exploit this gap in the market with its new ProLiant G6 servers, which are available in standard-based tower, server rack mountable and blade configurations.

Commenting on the new devices industry standard servers product manager at HP Philippines Veronica Escalante told the news provider: "The G6 brings together the best innovations in energy efficiency, virtualization and services which would enable customers to do more with less."

HP claims that the ProLiant G6 server is the most energy efficient x86-based system in the world and includes the HP Sea of Sensors, which automatically monitor heat build-up in and around the device.

Meanwhile, Fujitsu is set to target the mid-market for servers with its new Primergy BX900 blade server system.ADNFCR-1186-ID-19177109-ADNFCR
