Harting publishes Ethernet engineering handbook - Networking Industry News Harting has published its Industrial Ethernet Handbook, which it intends to be used as an industry-wide cabling reference.

The five-chapter guide, which contains 168 pages of technical Ethernet details, explains the Open System Inteconnection Reference Model and the suitability of different Ethernet models in various topologies.

It covers both interconnect hardware and cabling issues.

It sports a 26-page glossary, which explains the majority of technical terms used in the cabling sector, as well as standards, protocols and acronyms.

Recently, Harting introduced a new industrial connector, which boasts rapid field assembly and swift termination.

The Han Q connector is 100 per cent compatible with existing units and is suitable for cabling with standard cross-sectional areas.
