Solarflare Communications has announced a new partnership with Delta Networks – a leading design manufacturer of network communication equipment.
Solarflare develops standards-compliant 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) silicon and through the new deal will see new technology manufactured for global network original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
The 10GbE operation is supported by 10GBAse-T which enables it to work over new network cabling infrastructures.
Bruce Tolley, vice president of marketing for Solarflare, said: "Standards-compliant 10GbE technology is the best way to address ever-increasing bandwidth demands placed on networks by advanced applications."
He added that the company was "proud" to be collaborating with Delta Networks in meeting the growing demand among OEMs for "robust 10GbE products that will drive the proliferation of next-generation applications such as server virtualisation and streaming rich-media on demand to millions".
