Data demand is driving 10Gbps cabling market - Networking Industry News

Data demand is driving 10Gbps cabling market - Networking Industry News Growing demand for data is causing customers to turn to the latest Cat6 cables and fibre optic leads, it has been claimed.

According to Deepak Jagtiani, regional sales director at Molex India, a huge growth in demand for data storage is causing existing data centre facilities to expand and new ones to be built, which in turn is causing firms to future-proof their networks with the latest copper and fibre optic cables.

Speaking to Voice and Data, he added: "Manufacturers have supported and enhanced the cabling services business from early days. As the standards specify post-installation parameters for a cabling network it is essential that the quality of the installed network meets and exceeds these parameters."

According to a recent study by IDC Research, demand for data centre storage will be ten-times higher in 2011 than it was in 2007, and businesses will try to sqeeze more performance out of their limited server rack and server cabinet space as a result. ADNFCR-1186-ID-19392670-ADNFCR
