IT firm Consonus Technologies has embraced green data centre technology, a move aimed at reducing the firm's environmental impact.
The company is hoping to lead the way in the widespread adoption of green IT technology such as energy efficient cooling technologies.
Part of the companies fight against the environmental consequences of growing data demand includes its accession to a number of industry associations concerned with the issue.
Bob McCarthy, co-president of the firm, said: "Consonus is helping influence both developers and end users of data centre technology."
"We've also made a concentrated effort to find the most efficient and sustainable technology and design for our Data Centres around the country and pass that knowledge on to other companies in our community," he added.
Earlier this month The Green Grid published an easily digestible report on current and upcoming environmental legislation which could have a major impact on the data centre sector across the whole of Europe.
