Companies 'set To Adopt' SaaS
Businesses in Europe are likely to utilise increasingly software as a service (SaaS), according to a new study.
Research carried out by IDC found that 37 per cent of IT leaders polled would invest money into SaaS at some point in the next two years to improve on ERP systems in place.
When it comes to CRM, 35 per cent of the decision-makers surveyed said they would use SaaS to replace existing provisions in the next two years, while 32 per cent would do so for supply chain management.
"We believe SaaS spending will be directed at new applications and at replacement of broken applications, rather than at ripping and replacing working solutions," said Bo Lykkegaard from IDC.
"European organisations seek to leverage the SaaS delivery model to reduce risk, complexity, and upfront costs of new IT initiatives."
A recent report from Gartner warned business that avoiding investing in green IT could be a false economy as such measures can save money and improve efficiency.
