Collection of data centre guidelines published by The Green Grid - Networking Industry News Global IT consortium The Green Grid has published a collection of data centre guidelines aimed at the European storage and managed hosting market.

The guide incorporates information on all current and upcoming data centre policies and is part of The Green Grid's goal to improve energy efficiency and power consumption in the IT sector.

Discussion of the organisation's new guidelines will take place at their upcoming Technical Forum in Paris.

Vic Smith, Dell representative and EMEA Technical Work Group chair of The Green Grid, said: "The overall finding from the report is that legislation is continuously tightening, and therefore it is advisable to innovate now and seek out opportunities to manage future implications for all data centres across the region."
