A copper cable and fibre optics manufacturer has been dubbed one of the most successful businesses in Britain by prime minister Gordon Brown.
Brand-Rex, a global operation which designs, develops and manufactures high performance copper and fibre cabling systems for communications and extreme environment applications based in Scotland, was called a "world leader" by Mr Brown.
While on a private visit to the company's headquarters, the PM said: "Can I say what a privilege it is to come and visit one of the most successful companies in Britain."
He added that the company has a great selection of high-tech products and its success has allowed it to win contracts with American firms and the British Navy.
The company, which employs 390 people in Scotland and England, won a £5 million contract to provide fibre optic cabling to two new aircraft carriers being built at nearby Rosyth.
Meanwhile, according to new research by Point Topic, worldwide broadband customers are getting a better deal on standalone broadband packages.
