Belkin expands Gigabit networking portfolio - Networking Industry News Belkin has expanded its Gigabit networking portfolio with the introduction of a new powerline adaptor.

The company's Gigabit Powerline HD Adaptor is aimed at the home networking market and promises users access to high speed high-definition (HD) data transfer rates using standard powerline structured cabling.

Belkin's latest home networking solution is powered by Gigle Semiconductor's mediaxstream chip, and promises both secure and stable networking features.

"Used in conjunction with Belkin's new high performance Gigabit switches, Gigabit Powerline delivers the fastest networking speeds allowing you to make the most of your home entertainment set-up," the company said.

Last month, Belkin won an international networking equipment award for its Powerline AV+ Starter Kit.

The device took home the bronze award at the International Design Excellence Awards.

Belkin's three-port adapter is used for the transmission of data up to speeds of 200Mbps across standard home networking cabling.

It allows multiple devices to be connected to the same infrastructure.ADNFCR-1186-ID-19349018-ADNFCR
