AT&T has signed a new deal with environmental engineering and consulting firm Brown and Caldwell to supply the firm with Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)-enabled Virtual Private Network (VPN) services.
AT&T has signed a new deal with environmental engineering and consulting firm Brown and Caldwell to supply the firm with Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)-enabled Virtual Private Network (VPN) services.
Under the three-year $2 million deal, AT&T will provide expertise to establish the Internet Protocol (IP)-based data and networking services contract.
As part of the deal the VPN services will be spread throughout Brown and Caldwell's 45 offices, meeting the needs of the 1,500 people working within the company in the US.
Applications will include the wide area network (WAN) services for swapping computer-aided design (CAD) files between offices, although there will be other related-tools which benefit the firm.
Dan Mone, information services managerfor Brown and Caldwell, explained: "AT&T presented us with solutions offering efficient business management and improved information flow.
"These solutions will help control our operating expenses to support the future of our business."
Included in the deal is access to real-time information about the network's performance, which Brown and Caldwell will be able to monitor, as well as a direct connection to electronic billing and ordering systems.
