Internet, home phone, wireless and digital TV service provider AT&T has been awarded a two-year contract to act as key strategic communications and networking services supplier for hotel firm Global Hyatt, it has been announced.
An internet protocol (IP)-enabled wide area network (Wan) will now be installed by AT&T to link 300 Hyatt sites across 43 different countries in the regions of North America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific.
The Wan will comprise of a range of voice, data and managed internet applications, and will improve communications while simultaneously helping to cut costs.
"AT&T's solution offered us cost control, greater operating efficiency and innovative technology to enhance the efficiency of our hotels," commented Jim Lamb, senior vice president for information technology at Global Hyatt Corp.
"With AT&T, we can capitalise on a communications infrastructure that will serve our needs now,accommodate our ever-growing technology requirements and position us to deliver a host of new, exciting services in the future."
