Tripp Lite had released a new uninterrupted power supply (OPS) solution that helps to improve maintenance and make replacement easier.
The firm's new Hot-Swap Power Dsitribution Units (PDUs) enable users to remove their standard plug-in UPS systems without interrupting power to the connected load.
Coming as a 2U installation in two or four-post racks, the products are compatible with UPS systems up to 3000VA, while dual power input cables and manual transfer switch with lighted status indicators are included.
Tripp Lite product manager Rich Feldhaus explained why businesses may want to use the firm's latest UPS solution.
He said: "Viewed from a lifecycle perspective, a standard plug-in UPS system isn't necessarily uninterruptible. At some point it may be necessary to take the UPS off line for maintenance--and that means costly system downtime.
"But with Tripp Lite's new Hot-Swap PDUs, a UPS can be repaired or replaced at any time, while keeping connected mission-critical equipment powered and fully operational."
Earlier this year, Para Systems released the Minuteman PRO-RT series, designed to protect the networking systems of small and medium-sized businesses.
