The compound annual growth rate between 2011 and 2015 for the SIP trunking services market is expected to be 52 per cent, according to new figures.
Infonetics Research's latest VoIP and UC Services and Subscribers report suggested that the number of small office and residential subscribers to hosted VoIP services is likely to increase from 179 million this year to 262 million across the world in 2015.
Diane Myers, directing analyst for VoIP and IMS at the firm, commented: "We've increased our short and long-term forecasts for the voice over IP services market, as adoption in the residential, SOHO and business segments continues unabated."
According to the report, the value of the combined residential and business SOHO VoIP services market is likely to rise to $76.1 billion by 2015.
Earlier this month, Cablevision Systems announced that its Optimum Voice SIP Trunking services had been certified with Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series for small businesses.
