Alcatel-Lucent and VoIP Unlimited have joined forces to provide trunking services to businesses in the UK, it has been revealed.
The VoIP Unlimited trunking service saves on line rental costs by using voice over broadband to connect to VoIP Unlimited's central IP network from any location.
What's more, calls to other Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking users will be free, and as an added bonus businesses will be able to retain their phone numbers.
VoIP Unlimited's team-up with Alcatel-Lucent is significant as the firm's trunking services go hand in hand with Alcatel-Lucent's OmniPCX office telephony system.
"The VoIP Unlimited package of next generation network connectivity combined with value-added services provides a compelling option for Alcatel-Lucent resellers looking to help their end-users to harness the benefits of IP," commented Trevor Evans, business development manager for Alcatel-Lucent.
