Janet UK launches Lightpath network

Janet UK launches Lightpath networkJanet UK has launched its new Janet Lightpath service, which will be welcomed by the country's research communities.

The product has been launched to meet the need among research communities for dedicated end-to-end network capacity.

It provides separation at the network transmission level and users will take control at the higher layers.

Janet Lightpath's circuit capacities can be set within a range of a few tens of Mbit/s up to 10Gbit/s, depending on the user's requirements.

David Salmon, research support unit manager at Janet UK, said: "During the planning of the latest generation of the network backbone, rolled-out earlier this year, it became evident there was a growing requirement from high-end users for separate dedicated networks for research and development purposes."
