Network equipment manufacturer Souriau has unveiled its new UTS range of RJ45 cableconnectors.
The company claims that the connectors are intended for use in demanding environments where high-speed Ethernet is essential.
Its all plastic UTS range can be assembled in less than a minute and requires no special tools for assembly or disassembly.
According to Souriau, the devices' rugged nature make them particularly suitable for shop-floor or field installations on projects requiring robotics, machinery, automation or industrial telecommunications.
The connectors have IP68 or IP69K sealing performance when immersed at a depth of ten metres or during high-pressure cleaning.
Souriau said: "This sealing is dynamic, meaning in practical terms that it is maintained even when the cable is pulled in any direction."
They can be used with Ethernet 10 BaseT, 100 BaseTX and 100 Base T, as well as with Cat5e cables.
Some 44 per cent of Souriau's technology is used for industrial purposes and the 60 per cent of its operations are based in Europe.
