Server room monitoring and management has emerged as the key concern of data centre managers in a new study.
According to the Emerson Network Power's latest Data Center User Group member survey, 51 per cent of managers highlight it as one of their main three concerns.
Meanwhile, 49 per cent responded that cooling was one of their key concerns, while other important areas included energy efficiency and uptime.
The report said: "Data centres, with their increasingly complex infrastructures, now are entering a new stage of maturity marked by a more proactive approach to management that moves them beyond simple 'sense and respond' monitoring.
"Creating the ability to predict for performance optimisation will enable increased efficiency, better informed planning and higher levels of service."
The National Foundation for Educational Research recently announced that it had chosen UPS Systems to provide server room monitoring tools for its data centre.
It said that it needed the firm's product, Remo, to protect the its uninterrupted power supply and temperature control equipment.
