Focus EDL has revealed a new series of optical transceivers which will provide designers with extra Ethernet and Fibre Channel applications.
The small optical transceivers provide them with a high-performing ultrasmall option and have been produced by Stratos Optical.
Stratos Optical is an Emerson Network Power Connectivity Solutions product.
Its RJ Series includes 850nm products for the Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet markets.
Geoff Philpot, managing director of Focus EDL, said: "Stratos is well known for its innovative product design combining advances in performance with miniaturisation and these transceivers in an RJ45 format are great examples of the company's technology leadership."
He said the company is seeing more demand for "smaller, lighter and more powerful transceivers" to be used for applications for which size is important.
Mr Philpot added: "These RJ45 packaged devices will create a lot of interest among system designers."
