Phihong is to release a new splitter that provides a power over ethernet (PoE) solution for devices such as IP cameras, heaters and illuminators.
The POE21-120H is a 21W data splitter that has outputs of 10W over PoE.
It comes in a non-vented case featuring an LED set to indicate power and connection diagnostics and is complient with SELV, LPS. The unit also has over-voltage, over-current, and short circuit protection.
Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong, said: "So far PoE has been very successful in deploying security equipment to locations without the need for additional power supplies, but hasnt addressed the question of powering multiple devices in a single location.
"The POE21-120H splitter will now provide 10W to power a PoE Camera as well as a 12W heater from a single ethernet cable."
Last year, Advantech released the EKI-2701PSI, a PoE splitter aimed at the industrial market, providing both data transmission functionality and power.
