A new Wi-Fi wall switch has been introduced by Ruckus Wireless which will help hotels.
The ZoneFlex 7025 switches integrate high speed 802.11n Wi-Fi technology with wired ethernet ports, enabling customers to deliver more networking services.
Douglas Rice, executive vice president and chief executive of Hotel Technology Next Generation, explained the importance of the switches, which can be deployed as a standalone device or centrally managed, to the industry.
He said: "For hotels, the first thing that must be achieved from a guest technology perspective is wireless everywhere.
"Beyond that, the hospitality market clearly sees the enormous benefits that an IP-based network brings in delivering a better guest experience, new services that will drive customer loyalty and better staff productivity across their hotels."
Meanwhile, Powerwave recently launched its new Walk-In MicroFlex cabinet, a multi-purpose cell site enclosure that provides users with a secure and compact housing solution for wireless infrastructure.
