A new range of flexible 10Gbit multiprotocol transponders have been introduced by Fibre Technologies.
The company claims that arcutronix's new FCX10G and FCX10G2 transponders will allow cash-strapped telecoms firms to increase their available bandwidth without the need for a costly network upgrade.
According to the firm, the fibre optic nature of the transponders allow data transmission using single or dual independent channels, with each supporting data transfer rates of between 9.5Gbit and 11.32Gbit making them ideal for LAN, WAN and fibre channel applications.
Commenting on the transponders' 80 kilometre range, Juergen Schroeder, chief executive officer of arcutronix, said: "Today, the market demands Ethernet solutions that offer longer transmission lengths with reduced data error rates and latency."
He added that both FCX10G products enable customers to meet those needs and futurproof their networks.
Fibre Technologies is a global communications equipment supplier and also provides copper to fibre optic lead converters and optical multiplexers.
