Pakedge Device & Software has released a new switch that will help with home networking, security and other applications.
The SW5-GW is a five-port gigabit ethernet switch that is fully compliant with all network protocols and has a host of integration-friendly features.
A stackable solution, the switch can be used in large, complex installations or for port expansion in cabinets where only one cat5e cable is available, while the product includes a wall-mount bracket and kit.
Victor Pak, president and chief executive of Pakedge, said: "Like all Pakedge products, the SW5-GW is optimized for home theater, multiroom audio/video, home networking, smart home and security applications.
"It's designed for unshakable reliability even under demanding conditions of continuous use, along with flexible operation and ease of installation."
Meanwhile, HP recently unveiled a range of new switches aimed at small and medium-sized businesses, including the V1410, which provides reliable 'plug and play' connectivity in the eight, 16 and 24-port gigabit options.
