New security measure for server racks - Data and Server RacksA new device has been released by ZK Software that could help keep server cabinets and enclosures secure.

The iFace is the world's first dual biometric reader, requiring just a touch of a finger and a one second facial scan or flash of an ID card to verify an approved user's identity.

Capable of storing up to 10,000 fingerprint templates, 700 face templates and 100,000 transactions, it can be used across a variety of applications, including server racks.

Jaimin Shah, chief executive of ZK Software, said: "The iFace 302 introduces a new level of sophistication for biometric readers.

"It offers multiple options to quickly and accurately identify a person, and cannot be compromised by unauthorised parties. Like all ZK products, it also easily integrates with any software application."

Modrac recently released the EnviroRac5, a server cabinet that features biometric access control as well as automated fire protection and a touch-screen interface.
