New network tool from Tyco Electronics - Network Accessories

New network tool from Tyco Electronics - Network AccessoriesTyco Electronics has unveiled a new crimping tool that will help network engineers in the installation of cables.

The network tool, the BT 3500, has been created in partnership with Heiland and provides 3,500 pounds of crimping force to network cables.

With a portable design, the battery and pump are kept in different units while a strap and a belt improve comfort for the user.

The firm said: "Another feature is the quick terminal take-up. This allows the operator to quickly and easily locate a terminal into the head and hold it in position.

"This makes it much easier to position the wire into the wire barrel and begin the crimping process. Other solutions require the tool to be partially cycled in order to close the dies and capture the terminal prior to crimping."

Meanwhile, Tyco Electronics recently introduced a line of new industrial mini I/O connector system, designed to function in high vibration environments.

A quarter of the size of traditional RJ45 plugs, the product features a full latching system.
