Computer peripherals manufacturer LaCie has introduced a new network attached storage device that prioritises the securing of data.
The Network Space MAX can be configured with RAID 1 security and has two large-capacity hard drives with the option of automatic disk mirroring.
The company said that it is designed for "ultimate usability" and that a user-friendly dashboard means simple management of files and other functions, while the remote access service ensures access to the hard drive from any computer connected over the internet.
Patrick Salin, digital home business unit manager at LaCie, said: "Even for networking beginners, LaCie Network hard drives offer a simple way to share one's media between multiple computers in the home.
"The RAID 1 capability of LaCie' s Network Space MAX means users can be assured their valuable data is always safe and accessible."
Another network attached storage device to recently hit the market is the DS410 NAS from Synology, offering a maximum capacity of eight terabytes.
