New network attached storage device from Synology - Network AccessoriesA new network attached storage device from Synology has received a positive review for its performance.

The DS410 NAS has a maximum capacity of eight terabytes and is capable of hitting speeds of 350 Mbps on average.

Writing for Zath, Rob Nichols first points out the impressive appearance of the unit, adding that it can be conveniently placed around the office.

He also says that installation is simple, while an "intuitive web interface" helps unlock the potential of the device.

A vast array of applications also adds to the value of the network attached storage product, including Surveillance Station and Photo Station.

Mr Nichols concludes by saying: "I found the device to provide great performance, an abundance of world-class applications that make using the server extremely simple... The software provided and the state of the art web interface is extremely impressive.

"I would definitely recommend the NAS to business and home users alike due to its versatile capabilities."

It was recently suggested that users may want to make sure their network attached storage devices are backed up, perhaps through a cloud-based service.
