Cisco has announced that it is releasing Network Building Mediator Manager 6300 available to help organisations achieve sustainable management.
As part of the firm's vision to manage its energy and environmental challengers, it has decided to make the new management solution available to businesses.
Among the features of Network Building Mediator Manager is its ability to connect, monitor, aggregate and manage distributed networks of Cisco Network Building Mediators, while a global navigator gives businesses wide visibility of facility operations and presence for dispersed deployments.
Sandeep Vij, vice president and general manager of the Cisco Converged Building Systems Business Unit, explained why the new technologies are so important.
"Business energy requirements in commercial buildings represent a large percentage of the world's overall energy consumption," he commented.
"Providing management, facilities and IT teams with clear, real-time visibility into the impact of energy flows is a first step toward managing buildings in a more intelligent way."
