Ideal Industries has introduced a new tool that will enable anyone installing a network to be sure of the integrity of all cables.
The new VDV PRO cable tester has a bright backlit full dot-matrix screen meaning it can work even in the darkest of environments.
With integrated RJ11/12, RJ45 and coax F-Connector interfaces, it is suitable for a variety of needs, including data, and can support up to eight remotes, meaning it can serve larger installations.
It can confirm the quality of installed shielded or unshielded twisted pair of RJ45 cables and can also test for shield continuity and voltage presence.
Dan Payerle, IDEAL's business unit manager, said: "We listened carefully to what users of the first VDV Multimedia told us they needed, including faster testing.
"As those requirements evolved with changing technology, we responded accordingly with the more advanced VDV PRO."
Last year, Megger introduced its SCT device that can monitor signals with a frequency range of one and 1,000MHz.
