New HP switches to help SMBs - Network Accessories

New HP switches to help SMBs - Network AccessoriesHewlett Packard (HP) has announced a range of new products, including switches, to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) satisfy their communication, collaboration and networking needs.

Among them is the StorageWorks X1000 network storage system which provides users with twice the drives of previous versions in half the space and at a much lower cost.

Meanwhile, the V1410 switches promise 451 per cent return on investment through reliable 'plug and play' connectivity in the eight, 16 and 24-port gigabit options.

The X310 Data Vault and the P2000 G3 SAS Modular Array complete the new offerings, which all aim to aid the convergence of servers, storage, networking and management.

The firm said: "These offerings enable SMBs to streamline communications and operations while deploying more efficient routes to market in order to expand business opportunities."

HP recently hit the headlines when it announced that data centres could be powered in the future by methane produced by cow manure.
