M2 Optics has released a new fibre cable tester that is rugged enough for even the harshest conditions.
The Fiber Lab 800HE is perfect for environments where rough handling and harsh conditions can be expected.
Available in custom conditions, the device can be used for a variety of applications, including telecom training purposes.
As with other products in the Fiber Lab series, the new tool can be used remotely. This means that long spools of connector-terminated fibre cables are not necessary to replicate field installations, eliminating the risk of any erratic results.
Kevin Miller, vice president of marketing at M2 Optics, said: "It provides maximum durability to protect the fragile and valuable fibre inside during the roughest handling.
"This makes it a perfect solution for military applications, equipment leasing companies, training facilities, and any application where heavy use and potential fibre damage can be expected."
BT recently announced that it will allow rival networks to lay down fibre cables through its infrastructure in order to speed up the rollout of 'superfast' broadband services.
