A new one-way delay testing tool has been released by JDSU, giving users a field-portable solution.
The firm's T-BERD/MTS-6000A Multi-Services Application Module (MSAM) promises accuracy ten times greater than most service level agreements and is suitable for networks carrying voice, data and video services.
Mirna Mekic, director in JDSU’s Communications Test and Measurement business segment, explained how the network tool can help to prevent the degradation of data quality and reliability.
The JDSU One-Way Delay test feature for the T-BERD/MTS-6000A MSAM gives those responsible for network operations a simple and accurate method to perform a critical one-way SLA delay measurement that can characterise network performance.
"This unique feature provides valuable information useful in network turn-up and troubleshooting so that carriers can assure SLAs and optimise their networks to enhance quality of service."
GAO Comm recently unveiled its own handheld gigabit ethernet tester, the model 5850, featuring data packet capture, traffic generation, cable testing, BER testing and RFC-2544 benchmark testing.
