Electro Standards Laboratories has launched a new switch with serial remote control that allows users to share a single RJ45 interface device with four other devices.
The PathWay Model 7423 RJ45 Cat5 network switch provides users with board-mounted pushbutton control or remote control through its ASCII RS-232 Serial Data controller.
Meeting Cat5 cable standards, all signals are passed through copper contact relays which maintain their connection even if power is lost.
The four switch ports are also capable of transmitting any kind of data.
In related news, Weidmuller has launched 11 new networking and panel organisation devices.
The NetBloc line consists of units that provide network connection and network cable management capabilities.
Bruce Hofmann, director of marketing at Weidmuller, "Now all of the marking and organisational benefits of terminal blocks are available to network terminations."
The devices offer a range of four unique variations of standard RJ45 to RJ45 connectors, each rated for use with anything up to Cat6 cables.
