Online recruiting is the only way forward, an expert has argued, which may come as a surprise to businesses using network tools.
According to Paul Daley, director of HR consulting and services at Ochre House, companies that do not recruit using online methods are "thrashing around in the dark ages".
"If you're not online you'll probably be out of business pretty quickly because I don't know how you'll find anyone, and if you're not moving to using more forward-thinking online methods you're going to go out of business in three years time," he warned.
Mr Daley noted that online recruitment has the advantage of being easier for candidates to use, while the more traditional processes provide "such a poor experience" to applicants.
His comments come after high street retailer Primark announced it will be conducting an online-only application process to fill the vacancies in its new Scunthorpe store.
