JasperSoft and Microsoft are working together on a number of initiatives to optimise the company's Business Intelligence Suite for Windows Server 2008.
The company has also announced the launch of its new JasperSoft ODBO Connect product, which will allow the use of Microsoft Excel as a front-end for the JasperAnalysis data analysis server.
JasperSoft has previously launched support for Microsoft Windows and Microsoft SQL Server platforms.
Sam Ramji, senior director of platform technology strategy at Microsoft, said that with 50 per cent of open source applications deployed in the enterprise utilising Windows systems and a further 50 per cent of OLAP deployments using Excel, the collaboration with JasperSoft was important.
He said: "We are pleased to be collaborating with JasperSoft to deliver optimized versions of the JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite for both Microsoft's server and desktop platforms and applications."
JasperSoft also announced itsBusiness Intelligence Suite has finished the Works with Windows Server 2008 certification.
