Network solutions provider Huawei Technologies has joined the Long Term Evolution/System Architecture Evolution (LTE/SAE) Trial Initiative.
It also announced it will hold the infrastructure vendor seat at the LTE/SAE steering board next year.
The trial initiative will bring together major players in the telecom vendor and operators in a commitment to spur on the development of next-generation, high-performance and mobile broadband networks.
Yu Chengdong, president of Huawei wireless product line, said: "Our membership of the LTE/SAE Trial Initiative will provide a platform for Huawei to share knowledge, expertise and best practise with others in the industry.
"It will also allow us to promote the development of next generation networks. We have already implemented large-scale, full-performance HSPA networks around the world."
He added that Huawei plans to continue its "evolutionary process".
