One of Netgear's latest security solutions, aimed firmly at small businesses, has received a positive review from a technology publication.
Writing for ITPro, Dave Mitchell looks at the ProSecure UTM10, a complete appliance security solution, which replaces existing security routers with a standard SPI firewall and various features.
Anti-virus measures are comprehensive in the product, and the reviewer notes that it even copes with HTTPS traffic, something not usually seen with a device of this type.
The appliance also performs well when dealing with spam, while it was able to effectively tackle the threats posed by social networking services.
Mr Mitchell concludes by saying: "We were impressed with the ProSecure UTM10 during testing as it proved to be very easy to deploy and no pushover in the performance stakes.
"Small business that want a simple yet well-featured plug and go security appliance should definitely take a closer look."
Netgear recently unveiled the ProSafe Quad WAN Gigabit SSL VPN Firewall, another cost-effective solution for businesses.
